How are ratchet wrenches made?

A ratchet wrench is a manual screw tightening tool primarily used to turn bolts or nuts in tight or difficult-to-access locations. Through the connection of the socket, the ratchet wrench can easily meet various work needs.

Manufacturing process of ratchet wrench:
The body of the ratchet wrench is forged from a solid steel bar. The forging press presses the heated steel rod into the basic shape of the wrench, and then uses different dies to remove the excess burr. After they have cooled, use a milling machine to process the ratchet cavities. A gear assembly should be placed in the inner cavity, which is mainly responsible for the internal operation of the ratchet. The flowing white liquid is coolant, which can cool the workpiece and tool in time.

After the inner cavity is machined, the handle and end of the wrench are finely machined using a lathe. Cut off the excess part to facilitate subsequent installation of the handle. Then use a grinding wheel to smooth the wrench to remove the burrs on it. Pressing such grooves into the handle will allow the handle to be mounted more securely. To make the wrenches more durable, they need to be heat treated.

After that, do a grinding and polishing with ceramic abrasives. The wrench is about to be electroplated. Nickel and chrome are plated. The two coatings can prevent the wrench from rusting. It can also give it a bright appearance. Lubricated and now start installing the gear assembly in the ratchet cavity. Install the switch first, which controls the operation of the ratchet. Then put the stabilizing bead into the ratchet gear and use a punch to snap it tight. Put the gear in the ratchet cavity, then put the rest of the small parts in. Together they make it easy to tighten or loosen bolts or nuts. Put the sealing ring into the cover plate. Then tighten the cover plate screws. Attach the plastic grip and this ratchet wrench is done.
